The Natural High DVD Series is perfect for Red Ribbon Week!

Red Ribbon Week is celebrated annually at the end of October in cities throughout the nation. During Red Ribbon Week, we remember Kiki, the man who wanted to make a difference with the national drug problem and whose legacy still lives on. In partnership with the Red Ribbon Week Coalition of California (see below for more details), the Natural High DVDs have been accepted as part of the main Red Ribbon Week Curriculum in four western states; Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and California.

The Red Ribbon Week Coalition of California is thrilled to provide a compelling resource tailored for this specific week and also for use throughout the school year!

In California, a group of government, education, private and non-profit anti-drug organizations have come together as the California Red Ribbon Coalition to prepare FREE tools for Red Ribbon Week and your year round prevention efforts. The tools, which include the Natural High DVDs, are designed to educate parents, caregivers and educators about the latest in drug, alcohol and healthy living information. They can be used to guide kids as they grow – from kindergarten, all the way through high school – through the multiple hazards of drugs, alcohol, tobacco and other substances that can rob them of their health, their education, and their future.

The Red Ribbon Week Coalition stemmed from the observance of Red Ribbon Week started in 1985 after DEA Special Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena was kidnapped, tortured and murdered by drug traffickers in Mexico. Soon after Kiki's death, people everywhere started wearing Red Ribbons to symbolize their commitment to help reduce the demand for drugs in their communities. This act took on a national significance and grew into the Red Ribbon Campaign. This year marks the 23rd anniversary of Red Ribbon Week.
